Monday and Tuesday in class students will take notes on People and Events of the Civil War. They will have a quiz on People and Events on Thursday. Students should be studying their BLUE notecards EVERY night to prepare for the quiz.

Today in class we took notes on the compromises that occurred before the Civil War. Tomorrow students will color maps that indicate the states in the Union and the Confederacy.
Students will have a quiz on Friday that will cover:
North/South Notes
Compromises Notes
States in the Union/Confederacy
Border states
Students should be studying their blue flashcards EVERY NIGHT.

On Thursday students took notes on the differences between the North and the South before the Civil War. Students will draw a picture on Monday showing the differences between the two sides. Each drawing needs to include ALL of the information from the notes sheet.

Wednesday in class students began working on their Unit 9 Vocabulary Squares. I have given them the definition for each word and students need to write:

This week in class we completed our Unit 8 notes. Students completed notes and drawings on inventions in the 1800's on Tuesday after their quiz. Today we completed notes on the abolitionist movement and the suffrage movement.
Students will have a test on Unit 8 on Friday.
The test will cover:
Territorial Expansion
Westward Migration
New Inventions
Abolitionist Movement
Suffrage Movement

This week we have have been moving through Unit 8. So far we have completed notes on Territorial Expansion and Western Expansion. Every student has coral colored notecards for this unit that they should be studying nightly.

Students have a quiz on Tuesday, March 9th that will cover the notes on Territorial Expansion and Westward Expansion.
